Mikeno Lodge is a luxury facility within the oldest national park in Africa, Virunga National Park, a respected home for the endangered mountain gorillas. It is found in the center of Virunga with stunning views of the forest, Nyiragongo Volcano, and Mikeno Volcanoes and the rift valley.

Mikeno Lodge comprises of 12 individual bungalows, each of them accommodating two people with either a double or twin bed. All the bungalows are designed in the same style with lava rock walls and thatched roofs, each with its own private deck, spacious bathroom and a lounge area set around a fireplace. Whether your stay is the starting point for a gorilla, chimp or volcano adventure, or purely for a relaxing time-out in a peaceful location, Mikeno Lodge offers a unique experience among the wildlife and beauty of Virunga National Park.
The upscale and comfortable bungalow accommodations in this Lodge are capacious, splendid and exclusive with spectacular views of the valley and trees. Each bungalow has a personal fireplace which is usually lit in the evening by the staff so that you enjoy your mouthwatering meals in a relaxed environment.
Talking of the meals, there is a restaurant on site that serves finger-licking local and international dishes. There are very many interesting activities that can be conducted within the Lodge and they include nature walks, community walks and Birding among others.
This place, where the lodge nestles, is endowed with several bird species, endangered mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, baboons, Black and white Colobus monkeys and blue monkeys among others, that may be spotted during your stay here. Mikeno Lodge’s rates are very attractive and they include US$ 316 per room for single occupancy (on full board) and US$ 450 per room per night for double occupancy (on full board).
