With your private rented 4×4 rooftop tent vehicle from the Entebbe International Airport or any other point of start, drive to Jinja which is Uganda’s tourism city and, on this route, you can first take stopover at the Sezibwa Falls and Mabira Forest and both offering eco – nature walks and also enjoying the amazing history.
Then on your visit to Jinja there are several tourist activities that you can get involved and none other than include the white-water rafting that is done alongside the 05 rapids of the River Nile. On this experience you can either take actions or the simple experience if you are not so strong with the swimming in these strong running rapids.
If you are not interested in the rafting take the once extreme adventure that for some times it has been out of use and now re-introduced “Bungee Jumping” and it is so experiential in life. After the above-mentioned extreme adventures, you can take the relaxing tubing along the River Nile, jet cruise and the quad biking experiences along the Nile.
Drive to the Sipi falls which is one of the best safari highlights in the Mount Elgon National Park and on top of this experience take the village walk enjoying the coffee tours and here with our rooftop tent jeep camp stay at the Moses’ campsite and with the scenic view of the Kapchorwa landscapes.
Thereafter, being filled with such adventures take scenic drives to the Karamoja region with the stopover at the Pian Upe reserve offering the high population of the wildlife in the scenic and undulating landscapes of this reserve. After drive to Moroto town and you can with the Kara-tunga camp get involved into the Karamoja culture.
While in this region you can get involved in the Karamoja culture and if possible, you can spend the pure local overnight stay in the villages and have too the local food which include the mixture of beans, chicken, chapatti and rice.
Karamoja region is highly becoming the interesting safari highlight in Uganda and some of the interesting spots include the Nakapelimuro village which is among the biggest cultural village in East Africa. Don’t forget to ask your village guide to take you to the Ik forest nature walks and later drive to the Kidepo Valley National Park that has so many times been ranked by the CNN and BBC as one of the best safari game parks to visit in Africa.
Before you leave Kidepo experience the hikes to some of the undulating mountains and culture and if you are planning a Uganda Safari don’t forget to include this region.
While on your visit to the Kidepo Valley National Park expect to enjoy the morning and evening game drives and also if interested get a ranger again for the night game drive and so many wildlife species will be spotted as this park is on record of hosting rare and unique African wildlife. The birdlife species in this park is so amazing and to fully get exhausted with the endless wildlife, birdlife and undulating landscapes spend more time in the park. There are various park and private campsites offering camping grounds and these include the Apoka Camp, Kakaine Camp, Kidepo Savannah Camp among others and these offers relatively affordable meals and amenities needed to camp with your rooftop tent vehicle.
